A silver-metallic oil-based protective woodstain engineered to provide a natural greying effect for exterior wood.
Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain is the ideal product to use for any exterior wooden surface such as windows, timber cladding, balconies, carports, smooth fences, shutters, garden furniture and summer houses.
All colours and can be mixed together to achieve the perfect blend. We recommend purchasing the 5ml sample sachets first to see the potential results. Squeeze the packet several times to ensure that all the oil and pigments within are thoroughly mixed together to secure colouring results.
If you are looking for an alternative colour range, we can recommend using Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain.
It’s important to understand that transparent colour tones of this product will be determined by the woods natural colour. This will cause the results to change from colour shown on the colour chart. Lightly pigmented transparent finishes have limited protection against UV exposure, therefore not recommended for surfaces which constant daily exposure to sunlight.

Preparation
Before you apply this product, ensure that the surface is clean and is free from any dirt and surface contaminants.
If you are aiming to apply this product on surfaces which may have been previously oiled, lightly rub back the surfaces then fully clean.
Any previous varnishes and surface sealers must be fully stripped back, you can use a suitable wood stripper and remover.
To help protect against blue stains in moist surroundings, we can recommend using Osmo WR Base Coat to help pre-treat your wood with biocide-free wax impregnation.
If you are wanting to revive your wood from the exposure of the sun causing greying to your wood, we can recommend using Osmo Wood Reviver Gel.
Application
Ensure you always carry out a test patch with the product to ensure that the results is something you are aiming to achieve. Asses the colour and compatibility.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions at all times.
Stir the product well before use and over periods of time during use.
Osmo Natural Oil Woodstain Effect is designed to be ready to use, meaning you do not have to add any thinning formulas.
Apply thinly and evenly along the wood grain using a Osmo Soft Tip Brush or Osmo Premium Roller. depending on personal preference or the size of the job.
Allow the area to dry for around 4-6 hours with good ventilation.
After the drying process, apply a second coat following the same application procedures.
It’s important to understand that when the surface is dry, it will appear to be a satin-gloss finish at first, then will be satin afterwards.
For long term durability and protection against UV exposure, we can recommend using Osmo UV Protection Oil 420 Extra as a top coat. This will help protect your finish and hold UV resistant qualities.
Aftercare
For regular cleaning procedures, we can recommend using Osmo Exterior Spray Cleaner to keep your area in shape.
For surfaces that show general signs of wear and tear, or the loss of weather resistance, you can simply clean and add a coat of Osmo Natural Woodstain Effect to the current finish.
