Give your interior wooden floors and furniture an intensive finish with Osmo Wood Wax.
Osmo Wood Wax Finish Intensive is a versatile finish designed for the all-round interior protection of interior woodwork. Use one coat to allow the wood's natural grain and character to remain visible, or apply a second coat for an intensive and vibrant opaque finish. If colouring a wooden floor, please use a top coat of Osmo Polyx Oil Original Clear for added durability*.
*When using 3111 White Osmo Wood Wax Finish Intensive as the first coat on flooring, a second coat of 3040 White Polyx Oil Tints is recommended instead to avoid yellowing.
Our stunning Osmo Wood Wax Finish Intensive colour range allow the wood's natural grain to remain visible after the first coat, however these fine details will become hidden after a second coat. We recommend using only one coat for high tread surfaces, followed by a clear coat of Osmo Polyx Oil Original (this helps to ensure the colour is also protected from wear). Two coats are ideal for furniture, joinery and children's toys for an opaque colour tone, hiding the wood's character.
Osmo Wood Wax Finish leaves a smooth surface and is resistant to dirt, water and abrasion. In comparison to conventional finishes, the use of plant ingredients creates a more evenly coloured and more harmonious appearance.
What applications/substrates is Osmo Wood Wax Finish Intensive most suitable for?

It is ideal as a coloured primer for wooden flooring and for recoating darkened wood surfaces and is highly recommended for furniture and children’s toys.

Preparation
Perfect sanding is a must for a clean and attractive surface finish. Please see the technical data sheet for the recommended sanding sequences for the surface you are treating. A trial application of Wood Wax Finish is recommended on a small section of the substrate before commencing.
Application
Oils enhance the natural tone of wood. Applying the product too generously and with insufficient ventilation will lead to delays in drying.
Transparent coloured effects require 1 coat.
Apply very thinly to the clean and dry wood surface along the wood grain with a natural bristle brush or microfibre roller and spread well. For a more subtle stained effect, apply thinly with a lint-free cloth and within 20 minutes, wipe away cleanly and evenly. Allow for good ventilation while drying.
For Intensively coloured effects 2 coats are required.
Apply very thinly to the clean and dry wood surface along the wood grain with a natural bristle brush or microfibre roller. Allow for good ventilation while drying. Apply a second thin coat.
Larger areas can also be coated by using a scraper. Afterwards massage in with a white pad.
Important: For mechanically loaded areas, e.g. flooring, we recommend max. 1 coat and then generally a thin top coat with clear Osmo Polyx®-Oil Original; for white coloured flooring, a top coat with lightly white pigmented Osmo Polyx®-Oil Tints 3040 White. In general, intensively coloured applications (2 coloured coats) are not recommended for flooring due to the risk of applying too much product.
After 2-3 weeks, the surface is completely and thoroughly hardened.
Aftercare
Wood surfaces treated with Wood Wax Finish are easy to maintain.
Remove coarse dirt with a broom or a vacuum cleaner. To clean, add Osmo Wash and Care concentrate to mop water and clean the surface with a damp mop. To refresh and clean intensively, use Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner when necessary.
If a higher gloss level is desired, after thoroughly drying apply Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner thinly and polish when dry.
