RV5000 is a pigmented water-based primer that allows to renovate existing partially painted, degraded and worn down wooden products. The application process provides a coating with a slightly coloured finish and gives the product the appearance of wood it needs.
The cream colour is similar to that of new wood that has been unpainted and is excellent for a starting point for any colour, this replicates the original tones of the wood which brings the beauty in wood back to life. RV5000 can be applied on darker woods or even old layers of existing varnishes. The primer provides the surface with high quality UV protection that differs itself from other wood primers.

Preparation
In the situation you may need to sand, we recommend using a respirator mask to protect you from dust particles.
Painted wood surfaces:
If old layers of paint entirely cover the wood grain and you still want to go ahead, restore it will be necessary to operate with paint removal products before renewal. Sand thoroughly with sanding grits between 80-150. The old layers of paint should then start to fade, clean up the area before applying any sort of application.
Unpainted wood surfaces:
The area must be well sanded with a grit size which is suitable for the wood. You want to follow the natural grain before the application and clean the area well before applying the product.
Existing treated wood surfaces:
If you have wood that already has a layer of treatment on it, this must be sanded thoroughly. The wooden surface must be cleaned in areas where the old paint has peeled off. Before applying any application, the area must be free from any sanding dust and general dirt.
Mix the product well before usage to achieve the highest possible results.
Application
The RV5000 is ready to use, but please mix well before using this product to achieve the maximum outcome to the wood. To make the product less opaque, it is possible to dilute it by adding 5-10% of water to the mixture.
The Rio Verde RV5000 is flexible in terms how it can be applicated, depends on what you find easier. It can be applied using either a brush or a spray gun.
The average coverage is around 10m² per litre depending on how you use the product.
To maintain the natural beauty in the wood, apply only 1 coat. Dry more 4 hours but not over 16 hours, always apply in conditions above 10°C.
Aftercare
Before and after using RV5000 always ensure you store your product in a dry cool room above 5°C.
