Preparation
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease and wax.
Remove all loose and defective paint. Remove all algae and fungal growths, and treat surface with fungicidal wash.
Lightly abrade smooth or shiny surfaces to provide a key. On mild steel remove as much rust as possible and coat within 2 hours.
Allow galvanised one month to weather prior to painting.
When dry, substrate is ready to be painted with Bedec paints, or other water-based paints.
Application
Do not apply when air/surface temperature is below 8°C. Also avoid application when fog or rain looks likely. Drying and film formation can otherwise be affected, or flash rusting.
Stir well. Check colour before use.
In most cases only one coat of primer will be necessary. However, occasionally a second coat may be applied to ensure maximum durability and build.
Do not overspread.
Please Note: Not recommended for floors or decks (or any surfaces subject to immersion or prolonged contact with water).
Aftercare
At 18°C and 50% Relative Humidity: Dry 2–4 hours, recoatable after 4 hours.
Low temperatures/high humidity may cause brown spotting. In this case a further coat may be needed.
Fully hardened after 2 weeks.
Clean up: Immediately after use with warm soapy water. Remove as much product as possible prior to cleaning.
