Rio Verde Teak Oil is a brushable wood oil designed for teak and exotic hardwood furniture. The oil is made from a delicate blend of pure high quality Tung oil and Linseed Oil, which nourishes the timber with a honey transparency. It will help to feed, shield and enhance the characteristics of hard, exotic and oily wood species. It is suitable for interior and exterior use and is ideal for use on garden furniture.

When exterior wood is left untreated, it is exposed to the sun's UV rays which will bleach the timber to a silvery grey patina. To preserve the natural golden honey colour of furniture or to darken the colour, we recommend using Rio Verde Teak Oil. It contains UV protection to block greying, as well as anti-fungal properties to prevent the growth of mould and mildew on the surface.
Area of Use
Rio Verde Teak Oil can be used on garden tables, garden chairs, trellises, deckchairs, benches and other wood surfaces. It is a highly durable finish that is also suited for the oiling of previously oiled and greying hardwood surfaces.
The finish creates a soft and velvety texture to the touch for a superior duel combination of style and comfort. Being low VOC, the product does not compromise on its durability and creates a very hardwearing protective surface. Rio Verde Teak Oil can withstand daily usage of scratches, abrasion and general chemical agents.

Preparation
On raw wood, prepare the substrate with 150 grit abrasive paper.
Remove any excess dust that may have been produced.
Mix the product well before usage to achieve the highest possible results.
Application
The Rio Verde Teak Oil application is flexible - it can be applied using either a brush or a cloth.
The average coverage is around 20m² per litre.
To retain the natural beauty in the wood, apply 1-2 coats well stetched. With drying time at least 16 hours, always paint in conditions above 10°C.
For stained/impregnated wood, apply the product using a rag or brush. Do not leave heaps.To obtain a good degree of wood protection it is advisable to apply 2 coats at intervals of at least 16 hours.
For painted wood, it is possible to restore slightly worn surfaces by sanding with 320 grit abrasive paper and applying the product using a rag or brush. Do not leave heaps.
Aftercare
Before and after using Rio Verde Teak Oil always ensure you store your product in a dry cool room above 5°C.
