Renner YL M643 is a high-performance water-based primer that ensures superior adhesion and uniform platform, for topcoats. Engineered to provide excellent coverage and quick drying times, it supplies a reliable base for professional-grade finishes on all wood surfaces.
Areas of UsePerfect for working on all wood and MDF on projects such as fitted furniture, doors and turned parts. If the primer is crosslinked with 1% of YC-M402 it will reduce grain raising in MDF, increase thermoplastic properties and durability, ideal when manufacturing kitchens & bathrooms.

Preparation
We suggest 240-320 grit abrasives. For best results, use stearate abrasives. They provide higher efficiency than normal abrasives. Ensure the surface is completely clean of debris before coating. See our pages for suitable abrasives for water-based products.
Application
With good drying conditions and with good air circulation (20°C with 65% humidity), build can be achieved with just 2 to 3 coats. Each coat of 150 - 250 G/M² with an interval of 60 mins. Under these circumstances it can be sanded after 8 hours. Lower temperatures and higher relative humidity can lead to a longer drying time. It is possible to speed up drying using heated ovens. Can be catalysed 1% of YC-M402 for increased thermo-plasticity.
Aftercare
YL-M643 can be overcoated with any of the pigmented Renner Waterborne Topcoats.
