Symphony Narrowboat Paint Undercoat
The ideal base for a perfect
The ultimate High Build Undercoat. Formulated specially to ensure depth of colour for your Narrowboat Topcoat. Provides a colour coordinated base with outstanding hiding power. Significantly masks any minor damage your boat may endure.
It is strongly recommended to use an Undercoat to build film thickness for the Coach Enamel. The High Build prevents the finish fading quickly and ensures durability. Applying just a Topcoat will not have the depth of colour and shine consistent with a superior quality finish.

Recommended Paint System
Preparation
Surfaces must initially be cleaned using a Tack cloth to remove all traces of contaminants.
Ensure surfaces are dry and smooth to the touch before painting.
Prior to application. we recommend the surfaces are suitably sanded to the correct dry film weight. For machine sanding, we recommend you use SIA 1948 fibotec discs 180 - 320 Grit. For manual sanding, use SIA 6120 siafleece handpads180 - 320 Grit.
Application
We recommend two coats of Symphony Narrowboat Paint Brush Primer followed by three coats of Symphony Narrowboat Paint Undercoat.
Apply using Brush or Roller. Suitable synthetic brushes are Purdy Monarch Elite Paint Brush for a premium brush or Rodo Prodec Premier Synthetic Paint Brush for an economical solution. For rollering please use Rodo HD Foam Mini Roller Refills 10 Pack, Rodo Mini Roller Frame and Rodo Plastic Mini Roller Tray.
A light flatting can be done after the second coat using a SIA 6120 siafleece 320 Grit.
Please consult the post on Boat Painting Recommendations for using these products correctly and achieving the correct dry film weights.
