Sikkens Cetol WP 566 is a waterborne, pigmented translucent dipping, flow-coating, brushing machine and vacuum coater primer for exterior wooden components. Primers are the connection between wooden surfaces and coatings. Their composition influences way the final coats perform, so it's vitally important to choose the correct primer for the job you are doing.

Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%).
UV Protection Oil Extra is ready to use, please do not thin. Stir well before use.
Clean old microporous stains thoroughly. Old paints and lacquers must be completely removed. As a general rule, wear a dust mask during sanding works. Do not sand smooth surfaces finer than P120. If possible, please apply base coat to all sides before installation.
Fresh wood containing extractives and especially hard wood needs to weather off (for approximately 6 weeks) after installation. Thereby the wood becomes absorbent and the wood finish adheres optimally.
A base coat with a coloured finish is recommended, e.g. Osmo One Coat Only, Natural Oil Woodstain or Country Colour.
For renovations, clean old microporous wood finishes thoroughly. Clean and refresh already greyed or weathered wood at the same time with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-Gel.
The finished surface is, among other things, influenced by the wood‘s natural characteristics. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
If additional protection against blue stain, rot and insects is desired, pre-treat the wood if possible on all sides with Osmo WR Base Coat*.
*Use biocides safely. Always read label and productinformation before use.
Automated dipping, flow-coating Brushing machine, vacuum coater Processing viscosity is approx.
11 seconds in a DIN cup 4 mm or approx. 23 25 seconds in a ISO cup 3 mm at 20 °C material temperature EU-Regulation No. 528/2012: This product must only be used in fully automated dipping processes where all steps in the treatment and drying process are mechanised and no manual handling takes place, including when the treated articles are transported through the dip tank to the draining/drying and storage (if not already surface dry before moving to storage).
Where appropriate, the wooden articles to be treated must be fully secured (e.g. via tension belts or clamping devices) prior to treatment and during the dipping process, and must not be manually handled until after the treated articles are surface dry.
The drying process of the coating depends on the applied film thickness and may be delayed when using timber with a high extractive contents or drying in damp/cold conditions.
During the drying process, always ensure for adequate temperature and ventilation. If the drying conditions are not met, damages within the coating cannot be excluded.
Before use, read the identification and product information. Always follow customary protection measures, even when working with low emission products. Dipping tanks or reservoirs: when using metal reservoirs, we recommend using stainless steel, e.g., V2A, the use of other materials may cause corrosion.
