With varnished wood, 220 grit.
On rough wood it is suggested to apply 2 coats, with the wood being sanded at 150 grit paper and impregnated with shades close to the final colour for the best results.
On dyed/impregnated wood, it is possible to apply RLxx40 on treated wood with primers or impregnating agents with a low solid residue. Once the surface is clean, it can be lightly sanded with abrasive paper or scotch.
To use RLxx40 on wood that has already have a painted finish applied, its advised to use sand paper with grits of 220-240. After sanding, clean the surface from any excess dust that may be still in contact with the wood.
