If the floor has any previous floor finish applied, it must be completely removed and sanded down to the bare wood. If you need to remove any wax or polish, we recommend using Liberon Wax & Polish Remover. The remover is a high quality product which lifts old finishes with ease.
After sanding the wood down, you must ensure that the area is free from any dust that may be left behind. Also clean the floor from any dirt and grease that may be on the surface.
If you wish to apply any colours to the wood, you can use Liberon Palette Wood Dye prior to apply Liberon Floor Oil. If you apply Palette Wood Dye, you will need to let the wood dry for a minimum of 8 hours before applying the Floor Oil.
If you notice some areas of your floor have small or large gaps in, which could effect the final result, then we can recommend using Liberon Wood FIller. This product is available in 4 colours to choose from to help match up the colours of your wood.
Oil coats and finishes brings out the natural colours and beauty of timber and general wood. A wet surface on wood will be a indication of what the final colour would look like. You can always test the wood first by using the product on a spare section to preview what the end result can be.
Due to its contents, please wear suitable clothing and gloves, exposure to skin may cause allergic reactions, dryness and skin cracking.
Before applying the product, ensure the area is well ventilated.
Here at AllFinishes we take health and safety seriously and recommend you use the correct protection for the job. Disregarding safety equipment can be damaging and result in long term health conditions. Please check out our Moldex range for high quality respirators and hearing protection.
For the best results with Liberon Floor Oil is to apply it using a brush, lint-free cloth or roller, depending on what you feel comfortable using.
Work in with the grains of the wood wherever possible.
Allow the oil to penetrate and work into the wood for 10-20 minutes. Wipe over the surface using a dry clean lint-free cloth to remove any unwanted
excess oil. If you don't remove the unwanted oil it may result in a uneven final finish.
Its recommend that you apply up to around 3 coats or more, depending on how the oil reacts with the wood. Sand lightly between coats.
Apply more coats for a stronger durable finish or on porous timbers.
Allow a minimum of 12 hours between each coat and 24 hours after the last coat before heavy use of the floor.
Wooden surfaces may be cleaned using a damp wet cloth, if any liquid is spilt on the surfaces, it must be immediately wiped up. For any stubborn stains to interact with the wood, you may be able to use a detergent which will lift the stains from the surface. In some cases you may need to sand the area lightly and then apply the Floor Oil again.
Cloths that have been in contact and used with the oil can self combust if exposed to nearby ignitions and flames. Do not leave the cloths in bundles, discard them laid out flat outside to dry to avoid any potential fire hazards. Do not empty out into drains.
Keep out the way from children.
If consumed, please seek immediate medical advice, showing the container or label.
