Jotun Steelmaster 1200WF is a single-component waterborne acrylic thin film intumescent basecoat.
The most efficient thin film waterborne intumescent coating for 120 minutes fire protection of structural steel exposed to cellulosic fire. The low required thickness results in increased producivity and efficient project completion. Ecologically-friendly finish with low VOC content - maximum performance with minimum environmental impact.
Area of Use
Specially formulated for application to Structural steel exposed to a wide range of corrosive environments up to high as a part of a compelte coating system.
Substrates: Structual steel and carbon steel
Compatible with a range of Jotun primers and topcoats to suit your products specification.
Suitable for various applications including hotels, airpots, school buildings, train stations, sports stadia, shopping malls and many more!
Provides up to two hours fire protection to most structural steel sizes (subject to the correct thickness being applied - see below for application details). Product is ideally applied by airless sprayer for use under Jotun Pioner Topcoat, and has been independently approved for fire protection of structural steel exposed to celluosic fire in C1 to C3 environments.
Intumescent paint coatings are designed to expand in the event of a fire creating an insulating barrier around the steel slowing down the time taken for the steel to distort and finally collapse. Jotun Steelmaster 1200WF has been tested to BS476 Part 20/21.
