Bedec Barn Paint is a revolutionary, acrylic water-based paint that is perfectly suited to the protection of exterior wooden, metal and plastic cladded buildings.
It is a tough and durable paint with excellent colour retention. It will flex with the substrate rather than flake or crack. Suitable for many applications including fencing, posts, guttering and weathered galvanising without the need for a primer.
Bedec Barn Paint is ideal for protecting exterior buildings like Barns, Horse Stables, Fencing, Gates, Farm Equipment and Outbuildings, Tanks, Drainpipes, Doors, Windows, Garden Sheds, Water Silos, and Cladded Industrial and Factory Units. It is the perfect coat on Wooden, Corrugated Metal and Metal Box Cladding and can be painted on previously painted surfaces (even those coated with previous paint, weathered bitumen, tar or creosote).

- Resistant to weather and prevents algae build-up and Rot
- Easy to apply
- Long lasting colour retention
- Can be used on multiple surface applications
- Available in semi-transparent, matt, gloss and semi gloss finish

The substrate must be sound, dry and free from oil and grease. Cleaning should be carried out with liquid detergent solution, rinsed with clean water and allowed to dry. Surfaces that are contaminated with lichen or moss should be brushed clean, treated with an Anti-Fungal Wash and allowed to dry. Any structural repairs should be carried out before application of Barn Paint. Plastic, metal, timber and smooth surfaces should be rubbed down with abrasive paper or equivalent.
Ferrous metals should be primed with an appropriate primer after appropriate preparation; stains should be treated with a stain block prior to painting. Allow new creosote (3 weeks) and galvanised (1 month) to 'weather' before painting.
Apply by Brush, Roller or conventional or airless spray. No primer or undercoat is necessary unless used on ferrous metal (mild steel) or where staining could occur.
For porous substrates thin the first coat with 30% water. Do not apply at air or surface temperatures below 8ºC or when foggy or likely to rain before product has fully dried. Two full coats are recommended
Approximately 12–14 sq. metres/litre, when applied by Brush or Roller depending on texture and porosity of substrate.
Airless Spraying will considerably reduce this to 6–8 sq. metres/litre (56microns per coat, (corresponding wet film thickness 150 microns).
Touch dry in approximately 2 hours, normally re-coatable after 4 hours at 18°C and 65% RH. Optimum hardness is reached after 2 weeks. Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.
Clean up: Warm soapy water.
